Unlocking the Italian Culture Code

For centuries, under the roof of a boot, Italy has famously cobbled inventions, art, music, film, fashion and a table set with culinary delights. At this same table, you may see local villagers, the mafiosi, corrupt politicians, and Catholic priests. How do we make sense of this paradox?

We unravel the shoelaces peering inside to understand these unique intricacies. What do we hear – a lot of talking! (Have you ever met a quiet Italian?!) The Italian language is considered the most beautiful on the planet. Why? Besides the gorgeous lyrical sound, it is full of passion. The verbal and non-verbal communication in Italy is the true expression of personal relationships, education, and family traditions.
But surprisingly, in order to really make sense of Italy and her culture, we must look beyond the boot – on the rock on which she stands – Sicily.
