Da Vinci Capers in Boulder – 2008
It’s time for some summer fun! After five years experiencing the arts in Italy, Da Vinci Capers brings its philosophy to our backyard of Boulder, CO. For everyone across the country who participated in our “capers” and their friends, Mike and Barbara are cooking up a special dinner in the home in north Boulder. The weekend is an “ala carte” affair – full of options typical of Boulder’s fun summer events.
On Saturday, The Colorado Academy of Art will be offering us a hands-on art experience in mixed media (pencil, charcoal and pastels) by the Boulder Creek.
The Academy is an “Atelier” in the French and Eastern Europe tradition. It offers two and four year classical certification. Classical training yet encouraging individual creativity, The Colorado Academy of Art will provide us with a half day workshop in a beautiful setting.
Laudisio’s Restaurant is perhaps the most authentic of our Italian restaurants and consistently gets voted “The Best Of…” in Boulder year after year. A familiar face with locals, Antonio Laudisio is also a television celebrity Chef! He is passionate about food, honoring its history and thoughtful about food’s future. Along with Barbara, Antonio will give us a “Market Walk” on how to choose the best vegetables for our luncheon to be cooked that afternoon. We will then have a spirited demonstration and luncheon in their private dining room. We’ll have a prize for Sensazione! Prepare yourself – know your nose!
Sunday is reserved particularly for the out-of-state guests (but, of course, everyone is welcomed!). One should not leave Colorado without going into Rocky Mountain National Park – the most eastern part of the Continental Divide with spectacular views and walls of snow as we drive above the Alpine. A luncheon will be waiting for us at the historic Stanley Hotel in Estes Park (made famous by Stephen King’s novel, “The Shining”).
Vieni! Come to Colorado and join us in another wonderful Da Vinci Capers’ event!
